A sharp cold front came through. Walleye and Sauger are feeding actively.

Water Temp is 47 degrees on the Mississippi River at Guttenberg.
Wise Men, Larry and Jamie, say that causes the Walleye and Sauger to start feeding for winter. Landing 615 has seen most fishermen limit out late this week.
Bob's got a new weapon called a "Stinger Hook" Larry explains how it works.
Bob promotes "Thanks Jigging" with a four day sale beginning on Turkey Day and Going through Black Friday, Leftovers Saturday and "I wish I hadn't eaten so much" Sunday.
Jerry Farmer, enforcement officer with Iowa DNR, spoke to me about his busiest season: Rifle and Shotgun Deer Season. That comes in December.

The rains came to the Upper Midwest this week making life tough for the fishermen but good for fish, especially crappie and bluegills.
Bob goes fishing with Kevin McCool. Unknown how much he paid Kevin to read script about how good a fisherman Bob is.

The Fall Season is ON for fishermen, hunters, trappers and predator callers.
Bob lays out the many species of fish that are biting right now.
Jamie at Landing 615 in Guttenberg confirms the fishing activity and tips on how to catch them off his barge. Best Quote: "Don't bring the kitchen sink, we have one so you can clean fish!"
Larry talks dip nets to get the big ones in the boat and to keep friends and minimize spousal abuse.
Tanner Spidel is a very active trout fisherman. He has caught some native brown trout this fall that are HUGE. He is such a pleasant and informative young man. Update on Meredith, as well. (I think she has him hooked)

Lots of fishermen feel the season changing and hope for a good walleye bite this year. Bob, Jamie and Larry say the water is in the mid fifties and the fish are biting. Larry says PURPLE lures are best right now. Bob says the cash register still works for anything you want to buy.
We also talk with Joshua Bauer, Federal Wildlife Officer. He patrols our region of the Upper Mississippi. News about how to hunt the refuge and the change in the Federal Duck Stamp.
