Great Fishing As Weather Changes

The rains came to the Upper Midwest this week making life tough for the fishermen but good for fish, especially crappie and bluegills. 
Bob goes fishing with Kevin McCool.  Unknown how much he paid Kevin to read script about how good a fisherman Bob is.
Life on the Mississippi is good.  Have a good week.  
On Wednesday, the election will be over (we hope) so things can get back to dull and normal...
 
 

Time to Fish and Hunt in NE Iowa

The Fall Season is ON for fishermen, hunters, trappers and predator callers.
Bob lays out the many species of fish that are biting right now.
Jamie at Landing 615 in Guttenberg confirms the fishing activity and tips on how to catch them off his barge.  Best Quote:  "Don't bring the kitchen sink, we have one so you can clean fish!"
Larry talks dip nets to get the big ones in the boat and to keep friends and minimize spousal abuse.
Tanner Spidel is a very active trout fisherman.  He has caught some native brown trout this fall that are HUGE.  He is such a pleasant and informative young man.  Update on Meredith, as well.  (I think she has him hooked)

Sound the Bell: Walleye Bite Picking UP!

Lots of fishermen feel the season changing and hope for a good walleye bite this year.  Bob, Jamie and Larry say the water is in the mid fifties and the fish are biting.  Larry says PURPLE lures are best right now.  Bob says the cash register still works for anything you want to buy.
We also talk with Joshua Bauer, Federal Wildlife Officer.  He patrols our region of the Upper Mississippi.  News about how to hunt the refuge and the change in the Federal Duck Stamp.  
Next week, Tanner Spidel will tell us how he gets big brown trout and the joys of fishing alone and with Meredith.

The fall change is happening but kinda slow as the daytime temps are staying warm.

The Barge may be a good place if you put up the boat.  Landing 625 daily 7 am.
Bennie broke the code as Bob stands amazed.  Bob could be called back to the ship to receive further orders.

Fall Changes Coming - Fishing is Good

This week's show got out of control.   Thank you to Craig, who stepped in and saved it.   No one was hurt in the recording of this show.  Bennie was not present so he was spared the embarrassment of Bob off the rails (again).

We Are Back! Great Fishing on Upper Mississippi

A disruptive year on the Mississippi as flooding dominated the spring and summer.  However, the water is down.  Dry weather is the norm and fishing has picked up GREATLY.
