A wet spring and prospects for summer look like two more weeks of high water on the Mississippi as well as wet conditions all across the region.
Bob and I have a little musical fun (at his expense)
Larry reports with joy and optimism.
Tanner Veit is an intern with DNR who addresses the challenge of Cleaning, Draining and Drying your boat and trailer so you don't transport invasive species to other lakes and streams.

A flood week on the Mississippi as heavy rain fell in the upper Midwest.  Still..there is some decent fishing in the marinas and backwaters.   Larry and Ava fill us in on all aspects of Murray Outdoors on the south end of Guttenberg under the Big Walleye.
A kids fishing tournament on Saturday.  Go to Guttenberg motel 8 am to 3 pm.
A salute to high school graduates that include Ava and my twin grandchildren.
Be sure to listen to the closing musical salute (especially if you are an Alice Cooper fan...and who isn't??)
Bob is gone and the inmates are running the asylum.

Bob :Urbain steps aside this week to allow Ava to give an overview of fishing and floral at Murray Outdoors.  Listen to her voice and guess her age.  She is a wonderful young woman who will do well.
Larry checks in with his river report and Guide Sam Willet talks about a slow start to summer fishing but gives contact information on how to book his services on the river.  He is a first class guy and really treats his customers well.

Murray Outdoors (on the South End of Guttenberg, under the Big Walleye) is open for your fishing and gardening needs.  Rignt now, 75% of the shoppers want floral baskets and 25% want Fishing Equipment and Bait.
Bob Urbain is working both sides of the street and so is Larry.  (Bob is happier than Larry).  Listen for Bob's reward to Larry for his HARD work.
Chad Dolan with Iowa DNR talks "Spring Rise" on the rivers and why it is very important to species, both game fish and the wide array of invertebrates as well as fish and terrestrial animals.  An amazing ecosystem.

Under the Big Walleye on the South End of Guttenberg.
Bob is rolling in the petunias as the crew brings out a wide selection of floral baskets, bedding plants, vegetables and soils.  
The rains and warming temperatures are activating the spawn in the Mississippi as it heads to 60 degrees in the backwater and at least a two foot rise over the next week.
We talk with Larry about the store and Joshua Bauer from U.S. Fish and Wildlife about their centennial and boating safety.  Fire Extinguishers are the hot item.
